I saw both performances and felt the McVicar one was quite superior in terms of staging and pulling out the emotion in a more profound way. The costuming added significantly to it. But you were fabulous in both Joyce, though I felt you had really evolved the role by the time you performed it at the Met. Brava always! My favorite opera for sure.

Stunningly gorgeous! My favorite is the 6th, black and white one; what an amazing “ready to skin puppies” face 🙂 They are all filled with so much emotion, Donizetti’s music is playing in my head looking at these. Thank you!
